Greengate Power is focused on development of quality Wind Projects in Alberta and Ontario in areas with available transmission capacity. Many of Alberta and Ontario's best wind resources are located in areas that are transmission constrained, and require significant transmission system upgrades to exploit their potential resources. However, Greengate Power's portfolio of projects under development are in areas with strong wind resources, are geographically diverse, and are in transmission rich areas of Alberta and Ontario.

Blackspring Ridge Wind Project - 600MW

The 600MW Blackspring Ridge Wind Project is being developed on approximately 50,000 acres of private land located in Southeastern Alberta 30km north of the City of Lethbridge. The project is divided into two 300MW phases. Located on a high ridge with an extended high plateau consisting of rolling farm land and grazing land, initial Microscale Modelling indicates an excellent wind resource of approximately 8.0 m/s. The project is adjacent to a 240kv transmission line with available capacity.
